Attendance FAQ

Below we answer questions about attending our Colloquium or other events hosted by EGOS.

Participation & Access

No. The Colloquium offers a wide range of events that do not require an application or submission in advance. An application or submission is only required for the core elements of the Colloquium, namely the Sub-themes and all pre-Colloquium activities. Access to these formats is limited to protect their quality.

In general, yes. We do recommend attending with a submission of your own, though, as this is the best way to benefit from the Colloquium. Please note that without a submission, access to parts of the program is limited. You will find more details in the answers below.

Not without prior arrangement. We strongly recommend submitting a paper of your own: Sub-themes are small, closed discussion groups in which participants discuss their own work with colleagues familiar with the research field, benefiting from shared exchange over several days.
If you would still like to attend without a submission of your own, please contact the EGOS Executive Secretariat directly. Depending on room capacity, the regular number of participants, and the convenors’ approval, we may be able to arrange a “listener” seat.

In principle, no. Sub-themes are closed groups, and attendance without a submission is generally not possible (see above). However, since you have been accepted for another event during the Colloquium, we will try to assign you as a listener to a Sub-theme where possible. This cannot be guaranteed due to limited space, and switching between Sub-themes remains unwelcome, even without a submission of your own. If this applies to you, please contact us with a suggestion of the Sub-theme(s) you are interested in.

Yes. Every co-author is warmly invited to join their colleagues, attend the Sub-theme together, and present the paper. Please note that every participant needs to register for the Colloquium and pay the applicable Colloquium fee.

Yes, in principle, as this does not affect the room capacity. If you have linked the paper to your MyEGOS account as a co-author, you will receive all the necessary information, just as for your own submission as corresponding author.

Please inform the EGOS Executive Secretariat and your Sub-theme convenors as soon as possible. Together, we will try to find a solution.

Registration, Fees & Waivers

Yes. An active EGOS membership that is valid for the entire duration of the event is required before you can register for the Colloquium and pay the Colloquium fee. For legal reasons, we are currently unable to charge both amounts together, so the two payments are made separately.

Yes, the full Colloquium fee applies, even if you only attend pre-Colloquium workshops.

Yes, the full Colloquium fee applies to online participation as well. If a special fee for online attendees is in place, it is listed in the Colloquium fees section of the respective Colloquium.

EGOS awards annual scholarships that cover fees and travel costs; see the EGOS scholarship page. Apart from the scholarship, no fee waivers are available.

No, the reduced fee is only available until the early bird deadline. We announce registration deadlines several times, and we encourage you to register early to avoid this situation.

Yes, on-site registration is still possible. Please make sure you hold a valid EGOS membership at the time of the Colloquium.

Please inform your convenors and the EGOS Executive Secretariat as soon as possible, so that we can plan accordingly.

It depends on your discipline. Panelists from disciplines other than Organization & Management Studies (O&MS) who do not otherwise take part in the Colloquium may present without paying the Colloquium fee. Colleagues from O&MS pay the fee when they present in Sub-theme panels. If you are unsure, please contact the EGOS Executive Secretariat.
