STORM Research Center in strategy and organization at emlyon business school is looking to fill a two-year funded postdoctoral
position for the academic years 2026–2027 and 2027–2028. This postdoc position provides promising scholars with an excellent
opportunity to move forward their papers, further push research projects, and start new ones. The position is generously funded
and includes a research budget. Importantly, the position is neither tied to an existing project of ours, nor to a professor
from our team.
STORM Research Center at emlyon makes up a supportive and dynamic environment. STORM members meet regularly to discuss research,
attend invited talks, mentor PhD students and junior faculty members, and hold informal chats over lunch and coffee. STORM
brings together researchers interested in Organization Theory and Strategy. We are intellectually and methodologically open.
We believe in great research, irrespective of methods or theoretical background. We aim high. STORM members are very engaged
and research active. They have published in outlets such as AJS, AMJ, AMR, ASQ, ETP, JBE, JBV, JIBS, JMS, JoM, Org. Science, Org. Studies, ORM, SMJ, SO, Str. Sc.
Several of them hold editorial responsibilities and have a strong experience in
publishing.
The Postdoc we are looking for is passionate about research, energetic and open minded. We want her or him to be fully engaged
with us, not to be locked in their office. Responsibilities include conducting high-quality research, taking active part in
and helping organizing STORM activities, and mingling with the school’s fantastic PhD students. Teaching is not required,
but possible. The working language is English. Work is in our shiny new campus downtown Lyon, France. We welcome applications
from PhDs in management with a focus on organization or strategy, or PhD students in sociology with an interest in organizations.
The Recruiting Committee is chaired by Bernard Forgues. Please contact him with any questions
at: forgues@em-lyon.com.
When applying, please create a single pdf file merging the following documents: (1) a cover letter indicating your motivation,
(2) a curriculum vitae (mentioning the names, affiliations, and email addresses of three referees), (3) a research statement,
(4) research sample(s), and send it to Bernard at forgues@em-lyon.com.
