The Huika Mexihco EGOS Local Hub in Mexico City aims to strengthen and expand the organizational studies community within the framework of the
EGOS Colloquium by highlighting theoretical and methodological contributions emerging from Latin American contexts. It aims
to enrich the EGOS Colloquium discourse by bringing situated knowledge and insights from Latin America and offer critical,
pluralistic perspectives on organizational work from non-hegemonic contexts, challenging dominant narratives and expanding
theoretical frameworks.
This initiative represents an opportunity to demonstrate that meaningful academic community extends beyond traditional centers,
embracing diverse voices and epistemologies. Our motivation is rooted in one of our network's core objectives: To create more
pluralistic spaces for young scholars seeking places to discuss, write, create, and conduct research.
What to expect
-
A four-hour workshop titled “Science Communication in the Field of Organizational Studies: A Look at the Future of Academia”. Participants will develop and present proposals for communicating their research to broader audiences, working in small groups with the organizing committee to refine their ideas. The workshop concludes with practical guidance on producing one-minute videos for social media, with submissions to be published on Huika's platforms.
-
Two 90-minute panels featuring leading Mexican academics in organizational studies. The first panel explores conceptual trajectories and developments in Latin American Organizational Studies whilst examining the future role of more-than-human perspectives. The second panel examines connections between research, teaching, and organizational practice in the digital era, where AI is becoming an important non-human participant.
- Wednesday evening features contemporary dance and a concert by a Latin American music band in Mexico City's most artistic neighborhood.
- Throughout, attendees will network in beautifully preserved venues combining academic infrastructure with Mexico City's rich cultural heritage.

About the host
The Huika Mexihco Network is an academic and collaborative space that brings together researchers in the social sciences and
humanities, with an emphasis on organizational studies. Our work focuses on promoting research, knowledge exchange and the
building of interinstitutional links that strengthen the critical analysis of organisations. A high percentage of our members
are graduates of the Postgraduate Program in Organizational Studies at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana – Unidad Iztapalapa
in Mexico, which positions us as a national benchmark in this field. In addition, we have active links with other academic
communities and universities in Latin America in different programmes of administration and organizational studies.
