Vegan Baking Class

Friday, July 8, 2022, 19:30–20:30 CEST

What is it about

Pastries, cake and confection have traditionally a high importance in Vienna and its vibrant coffee houses. The local ‘baking scene’ is very active and has absorbed new trends such as vegan baking to contributing to a more ethical and sustainable world. We probably all have experienced the ‘beauties of imperfection’ when standing nervously in front of the oven, hoping that our baking effort would turn out successful. With help from an experienced home-baker, we will take on the much loved Lemon Tart – all from the comfort of your home!

Who is involved

Raina Saul-Ganev, a US citizen originally from Seattle, has been living in Vienna the last nine years. She has been sharing her love of desserts and knowledge of vegan baking for many years now. She will be assisted by Doris Schneeberger, a post-doc at WU Vienna. They both eat a vegan diet and are keen to share tips during the event about how to start with a vegan diet and things to look out for in the process.

  • Preparation/what to bring on the day: About one week in advance, a list will be shared among delegates regarding ingredients and tools needed for the event.

  • Link to participate: [to be shared by e-mail]
