COVID-19: Prevention & Detection

The health and safety of onsite participants in the 38th EGOS Colloquium 2022 at WU Vienna is one of our core concerns!

The EGOS Colloquium 2022 in Vienna will fully comply with all relevant laws and regulations in Austria and the City of Vienna, and with all rules in place at WU Vienna. Through the COVID-19 pandemic, WU Vienna has been known to err on the side of caution and has only relaxed its very strict COVID-19 policies starting in March 2022.

Consequently, WU Vienna has managed the pandemic excellently so far. Together with the respective staff at WU Vienna, the local EGOS Colloquium 2022 organizing team is closely monitoring the situation and will adapt their own measures and policies quickly and flexibly should the need arise.

The measures currently in place include:

  • A strong focus on hygiene and frequent cleaning of all buildings and rooms

  • State-of-the-art air conditioning systems that minimize aerosols; all classrooms also have windows that can be opened to let in fresh air

  • A wide availability of disinfectants and hand sanitizers across the entire campus

  • Signage and guidance for COVID-19 protection and control throughout the campus

  • The recommendation to wear masks inside the buildings

Additionally, Vienna offers widely and easily accessible rapid testing, which can be purchased at any pharmacy. Medical-grade FFP2 masks are also widely available in grocery stores, supermarkets, and pharmacies and cost around 59 cents each.
