The program is designed to give each paper 30 minutes within which (1) the authors have the opportunity to briefly introduce and clarify their work, and (2) space is given for discussion that stimulates and helps these authors in the further development of their paper, and contributes to the general understanding of the central research theme. This means that each slot involves:
1. presentation by authors (max. 10 minutes)
2. brief questions from designated "Discussants" (max. 5 minutes)
3. response from authors
4. open Q & A
The "Discussants" are taken from the presenters of the other papers in the same session. Their role is to highlight and discuss a limited number of important issues of the paper (say 2–3) in a way that is (1) helpful for the authors, and (2) contribute to the general understanding of management innovators and management ideas.
The Chair's role is to lead the discussion and make sure that we start and end on time.
The role of the other participants is to read each paper and engage in a stimulating and entertaining discussion!
